Founded in 1953 as Cherry Electrical Products, the company pioneered mechanical key switch technology. Today, Cherry designs and manufactures a broad portfolio of switches, sensors, and computer keyboards. In switches, Cherry offers snap action switches, rocker switches, and pushwheel switches for automotive and industrial applications. Their sensor product line includes proximity and speed magnetic sensors, as well as Hall effect sensors for position detection. Cherry is also renowned for its high-quality mechanical keyboards for gaming, office, and industrial use, including POS and SPOS systems. The company's MX series mechanical switches are an industry standard, trusted by keyboard enthusiasts and manufacturers worldwide. With a rich heritage in precision engineering, Cherry maintains a strong position in the global input device market. After being part of ZF Friedrichshafen from 2008 to 2020, Cherry became an independent company again, now trading as Cherry AG on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Its products are distributed globally through partners like Arrow Electronics, ensuring widespread availability.
