Ericsson, officially Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson, was founded in 1876 in Stockholm, Sweden, and is headquartered in Kista, Sweden. The company is a global leader in communications technology, providing end-to-end solutions in mobile networks, broadband, and cloud services. Within the electronic components sector, Ericsson Power Modules (formerly a business unit of Ericsson) specialized in high-efficiency power conversion products for telecom and datacom applications. Key product series included the PKA, PKB, PKM, and PKJ families of isolated DC-DC converters, as well as non-isolated point-of-load regulators like the POL Series and digital power modules. These power modules are designed with advanced topologies and offer high power density, excellent thermal performance, and digital communication interfaces. The power modules business contributed significantly to Ericsson’s portfolio and was later acquired by Flex in 2017, becoming Flex Power Modules.
