Greenlee, founded in 1862 by brothers Ralph and Robert Greenlee in Chicago, is the world's largest manufacturer of wire and cable installation tools. Headquartered in Rockford, Illinois, USA, it became part of Textron Inc., a Fortune 500 industrial group, in 1986. Greenlee specializes in professional tools for the electrical, construction, telecommunications, rail transit, and utility industries. Its core product lines include hand tools, hydraulic knockout punches, conduit benders, cable pullers, and test & measurement instruments. The Greenlee Communications brand integrates communication test equipment formerly under Tempo and Paladin. Additional sub-brands are Klauke (German high-end tools) and Greenlee Utility (formerly Fairmont hydraulic tools). Greenlee tools are designed for field conditions, enhancing user speed, safety, and efficiency. The company has manufacturing facilities in the US and Europe, with sales and service networks covering the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe. In 2010, Greenlee formed a joint venture with Endura to establish Greenlee Endura Tools (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., extending its reach in Asia. Greenlee's nearly 160-year heritage is built on innovation, quality, and solving professional installation challenges.
