Intel Corporation, founded in 1968 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, is the world's largest semiconductor chip manufacturer by revenue. The company pioneered the microprocessor with the Intel 4004 in 1971, triggering the computer and internet revolution. As a vertically integrated device manufacturer, Intel operates its own fabrication plants worldwide. The company holds a dominant share in the x86 CPU market for servers and PCs, though it faces growing competition from AMD and ARM-based designs. Intel continues to drive innovation in AI with its Gaudi AI accelerators and oneAPI software ecosystem.
