Superior Electric, Inc., originally founded in 1938 as The Superior Electric Company, is a U.S.-based manufacturer of power management and conditioning products headquartered in Bristol, Connecticut. The company specializes in the design and production of variable transformers, voltage regulators, and transient voltage surge suppressors (TVSS) for industrial, commercial, and laboratory applications. Its flagship product lines include the POWERSTAT series of variable transformers, which offer precisely adjustable AC voltage outputs, and the STABILINE series of automatic voltage regulators designed for high-precision voltage stability. Superior Electric also manufactures power conditioners, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and custom transformers for OEM integration. The company serves a wide range of industries such as semiconductor fabrication, test & measurement, medical equipment, and automation systems. Over decades, Superior Electric has built a reputation for durability and reliability in demanding environments, with many of its products being standard in engineering labs worldwide. While not a semiconductor manufacturer, its components are critical for ensuring clean and stable power to sensitive electronic devices. Superior Electric was acquired by Danaher Corporation in 1998 and later integrated into its test and measurement segment, expanding its global distribution network. Today, the brand continues to operate under the Superior Electric name, maintaining a strong niche position in the voltage regulation and power conditioning market.
